This site is dedicated to those whose desire is to create a unique personal space with a lot less money, a little bit of ingenuity and a whole lot of heart by seeking out wonderful, tattered old treasures and artfully installing them in their environment in unsuspecting, creative ways.
As long as I can remember I've been intrigued by tattered things. I think it all began when I was a little girl and I frequented thrift stores and garage sales with my mom. These places were a treasure trove to me. I was drawn to the mission of continually "beautifying" our home (as much as a young girl could). Because our family of five was on a tight budget (my father passed away when I was six), it required resourcefulness with what we had or could obtain inexpensively. I think these two factors forced me to be creative and to look at things with a different perspective, imagining these rescued treasures altogether differently than their original purpose. As a home stylist and artist my real passion continues to lie with the quest for finding wonderful old things and incorporating them into an environment in unexpected ways.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in Texas and am lucky enough to still call it home. I married my best friend, Nathanael (Nat) and thankfully he gets me, encourages my passion and recognizes that our home is my palette. We are blessed to have three wonderful sons, Reagan, Corbin and Gavin, who over the years have learned to tolerate our ever changing abode. Most recently, we've added Penny (a.k.a. Lucky Penny) an American Bulldog, to our family.
