Just in Time for Valentine's ~ Tara + Jeff

You know how it is on those rare occasions when you meet somebody and instantaneously they feel like a long lost friend?  That's what happened when I met Tara and Jeff ~ they are both lovely people who were so easy to connect with.  I had the privilege of getting to know this charming couple last summer at market ~ where, by the way, Tara's designs were a huge hit at the Dallas show.  They hail from San Diego and are both incredibly talented artists ~ Tara a jewelry designer and Jeff a sculptor (you'll learn more about Jeff later).  Fortunately for Dallas, the two made the trip back to the January show and here is a sampling of Tara's latest creations.

Tara designs jewelry using vintage objects.

Oftentimes incorporating religious relics into her designs.

Just in time for Valentine's Day are these beautiful one of a kind works of art.

I love the patina on this cluster of sacred hearts.  And can you believe the adorable heart earrings and the stunning butterfly pendant pictured below!

I'm so thankful for my new friends, Tara and Jeff, two of the most loving people you could ever meet.  And I just can't say enough about Tara's fabulous creations ~ they're unique, full of charm and best of all vintage.  What more could you ask for?  And these represent only a few pieces from Tara's wonderful collection.  I hope you visit her Facebook page here and you can be the proud owner of one of these beautiful designs ~ just in time for Valentine's.  XO ~ Dana

Feeling Artsy

Today I'm feeling especially artsy or you could say "puttsy" ~ either one ~ they are both interchangeable to me.  Probably because I'm dreaming of how the installation will come together in the space at market next week ~ read more here.

Also, for me, puttsing with my stuff is therapeutic and a great stress reliever.  I lose myself in the moment and time stands still.  It's my happy place.

Things I love about this installation ~

1) The clothing rack for sure ~ it has an adjustable second bar.  2) The vintage movie projector screen.

3) The brown paper stenciled letters ~ I spelled "HOME" out with and attached to the screen with electrical tape.

 4) The vintage French Linen aprons ~ they are buttery soft!  5) The old wooden hangers ~ so charming.

5) The vintage fan ~ thinking it probably wouldn't meet safety standards today but it's still a cool piece.  6) And lastly, the factory stool.  I must confess ~ I like it all.

I'm off to get ready for dinner with friends.  I celebrated my birthday yesterday and the celebration continues this evening.  I love when that happens!  ;)

Thank you for taking time to stop by Tattered Style today.  Be inspired and have a lovely weekend!  Dana

Stash ~ Vintage Finds

 Amber Bottles and Pulleys

I've been working for the past week with Kelley, from The Hidden List, Gloria, from A Modern Glo and Lisa, from Cut and Paste, pulling together our space at the Dallas Gift Market's new venue,  Vintage FINDS.  We've come together as Stash ~ Vintage Finds to share our love of all things funky, industrial, old and vintage.  We're excited about this opportunity to share, showcase and sell our merchandise.  Although it's been a whirlwind week (there's barely even time to stop and eat) it's great working together with like minded people.  We've also had the chance to meet and make new friends along the way.  I wanted to share a few pics I snapped from our space ~ I hope you enjoy!

Two days of Market down and two more to go!  I'll share my favorite find next time.  :)

Preview ~ Vintage Home FINDS for Dallas Market

Most of the time I'm posting about wonderful finds that I've come across.  Not today.  Instead, I'm excited to be sharing with you some *sneak peaks of items I'll be selling at the Dallas Market Center in January.  That's right ~ Dallas Market Center is launching a new temporary venue bringing Vintage Home FINDS directly to the retailer.

Oftentimes, designers and retailers are in need of one-of-a-kind furnishings, unique pieces of art or interesting objects to be used for display or props in a home/store.  With the addition of Vintage Home FINDS, the DMC will be making the designer/retailer's job a little easier by eliminating the need for going out and finding that "perfect piece" ~ instead we will be bringing it to them.

Here are just a few industrial/vintage selections that I'll be taking to market:

*Above...one of my fave's ~ an old New York Times display stand ~ ideal not only for magazine or newspaper storage but also for various goods/merchandise.

*A collection of various pressure gauges ~ wouldn't they be great as wall art or used in displays on a shelf or table?

*The uses for the chunky table on wheels are endless.  It would be a great place to merchandise wares ~ and would be equally appealing as a coffee or end table.

*The tip top of a weathered railroad jack ~ an exceptional accessory!

*The old mail receiving station above is brilliant in this vibrant blue color - it would perfect used as a host/hostess station in an eclectic restaurant.

I'm happy to be part of this exciting event ~ and happy to share some wonderful finds with you as well.  If you are part of the retail trade, I hope you'll be visiting the Dallas Market Center ~ Vintage Home FINDS on January 20 - 23, 2012 (taking place during Dallas Total Home and Gift Market).  I promise it will be well worth the visit ~ the displays themselves will leave you feeling inspired.

I'm off to finish up some last minute Christmas shopping ~ and just maybe I'll have a little extra time to scour some out of the way places for more great Vintage FINDS!
